Very pleased with my piece in Design MMoCA 2014 it's a great milestone that marks the end of my second year of graduate school and the beginning of my last hooray in Madison. By this time next year I'll be defending my thesis (gulp), and then spreading my newly caped wings and flying on to the next adventure.

Design MMoCA 2014
Happy New Year!
I hope you all had a magical holiday season and are looking forward to 2014 as much as I am!
I'm thrilled to announce that I've been selected to participate in the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art's annual event Design MMoCA 2014! I'm working with some very talented artists to create an installation that will be shown with a piece from the museum's permanent collection that served as the point of inspiration for my work. It's a tremendous opportunity and I'm so happy to be a part of it!
I'll be sharing more in the weeks to come, but for now here is the link to our press release!

Here's a clip from a performance piece I participated in earlier this year.
It's part of a body of work by artists Todd and Marrakesh Frugia. Here's their website http://roomsgallery.com/documentation.
This meditative piece was very much in keeping with the work I did with artist/choreographer Sally Gross last year. So happy to be a part of such a gorgeous piece. :)

Nova is a STAR
Novalie is one of the coolest kids I've ever met. Totally into music, art, and fashion. Super smart and funny. Beautiful and kind. And living with Cystic Fibrosis.
I'm so excited to be working with the Make-a-Wish Foundation in Madison to create an "artfit" for Miss Novalie who will be starring in a music video; performing her own version of Katie Perry's "Firework".
Working from Nova's original sketches we came up with a concept that included: purple hair, a purple tutu, purple matching boots, and a sparkly top with a heart, and pretty much as many sequins and sparkles as we could possibly add. (did I mention we have the exact same design aesthetic?)
On my recent trip to Chicago I sourced the beginnings of what will surely be every 7-year-old girls' (and my) dream outfit. She's going to look every bit the Pop Star that she is in her heart!
It is the absolute BEST when my loves of art, fashion, and kids comes together!
I feel so blessed to be a part of making Nova's dream come true! It's no wonder Nova means Star, because this girl has star quality written all-over her!!!
